I know some people will dismiss this as McDonald’s post-rationalising their photo shoot and art direction of photography but if even my dad can say ‘well, this is something new for them’ then it’s a really momentous move. Of course there are many other questions to be asked about practices across the global supply chain but 10/10 for attempting a start.
I’m saying 10/10 because in my memory of photo shoots, food styling and art direction, it would shock the world how many companies used (and still use) props that aren’t even real food – food doesn’t behave well in photo shoots when it takes you ages to style it, so compromise needs to be reached. Or people lied to – a thin line, some would say. It’s an ever-decreasing practice thanks in part to photoshop, but it’s by no means dead. My memory is also of food styling being a pretty expensive business (if anyone cares to weigh in, it’s been 6 years) if done right. But alas.
Wow! That is impressive from McDonald’s!
I didn’t use to think you don’t pay attention to grammar.
That slipped – I’ve changed it. But there are better ways of letting me know, especially when it’s not intentional. Like plain and simple English rather than clever puns. Just saying.
